Neerja Modi School 9th Annual function and award ceremony was held on Sunday December 19, 2010. The annual report was presented by the Principal Mrs. Kanak Khanna. Meritorious Students were awarded for excellence in various academics and non academic fields.

The evening started with a scintillating Orchestra played by Neerja Modi School students. They played the tune of the famous song “When saints go marching in”. An Indian fusion piece was also played by the students of the School on the Tabla, Sitar and Flute.
The Kathak performance ‘Sargam’ by about 50 students was spectacular. The ‘Nischay’ Girls presented a Classical dance performance based on “Radha Krishna” theme choreographed by Saswati ji.

The show of the evening was a dance drama titled ‘WARN RANG’-based on Rabindra Nath Tagore’s “Hori Khela”. This dance drama was choreographed by Kathak exponent Saswati Sen ji disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharajji’s from ‘Kalashram’. About 350 students were trained in theatre and dance by Saswati Sen ji and her team from ‘Kalashram’. The Music was composed Pt. Birju Maharaj ji.

The dance drama revolves around the story of rivalry between a Rajput and a Pathan Kingdom where the Pathan takes away the Rajput Kingdom over a game of chess by cheating and kills the Rajput king. The widowed queen pledges to revenge her husband’s death. She prepares her soldiers and invites the Pathan king to play Holi and in disguise her soldiers surround the Pathan and kill him. The story of strength and conviction of a Rajput queen is told by puppepiers, who are the narrators of the story.
The audience was enthralled by the mesmering classical dances and power packed acting of the students.
