NMS 2nd Annual Sports Meet
30th November, 2002
The second Sports Meet
of the Neerja Modi School was held on November 30, 2002 on its lush
green lawns. After an impressive March Past the oath was administered by
Kanchan Tanwar, an athlete of immense promise.
Every child of grade III
and above participated in the Cross Country Race on November 28, 2002.
About 150 students of grade II and 100 students of grade III
participated in a beautifully synchronized P.T. drill. The martial arts
students demonstrated the skills learnt by them in the Art of self
defense. The Act of breaking three bricks in one stroke by standard IV
students breathtakingly impressive.

Yoga with all its
passive serenity was performed to the chanting of mantras and the
resounding of "OM". Girls as well as boys took keen interest in
the 400, 800 and even 1500 meter races. Gymnastics was another big
attraction with the audience. Swantantra Yadav gave an impressive
performance. The little ones from classes IV and V jumping through the
fire stopped many a breath.
The Junior classes
participated in the obstacle race which charmed the participants, so
much that several parents were wanting to participate. So the obstacle
race was held for the fathers. This was further followed by the long
races and the sprint. Speed and endurance was the hallmark of these
winning athletes. Another noticeable fact was that their fathers also
proved to be ace athletes in the parents race. There was a balancing
race requiring concentration for mothers and a regular 400 mtr track
race for the fathers.
The Athletic spectacle
was an impressive as it was record breaking. The striving for excellence
was evident.
