Exchange Visit
to Raffles International School, Jakarta, Indonesia
Being a global
Institute, we aim to make our students truly global citizens. We believe in
providing rich and diverse experiences to students by way of interaction
with international students from diverse background and cultures in our
international partnership with various schools.
Towards this objective of ours, this year our students went for student
exchange tour to Indonesia . 3 students of grade XI
along with a teacher escort went to Indonesia for 3 Weeks to our
partner school, Raffles International Christian School at Jakarta.
The tour was a perfect amalgam of education and leisure. The students
attended regular classes and school activities just as another Raffleian.
They learnt about the difference in teaching methods classroom
environment and learning process. Field study trips
were arranged for the students to various universities, institutions and
historical places during the tour. These included Universitas Indonesia,
Institut Pertanian Bogor and Institute of Technology Bandung. Our students were accompanied by Raffles
students and staff during the trips which made learning multidimensional.
Along with the education, the students
also enjoyed all the leisure activities and tourist attractions within and outside
Jakarta.
The students enjoyed visits to sea world, Duffan Amusement Park, Taman
Animal Safari and Taman Mini. The students also look an overnight trip
to a neighboring island city called Bandung, where they saw an active
volcano which was a rare sight for students.
The were hosted at a five star hotel with an Indian Restaurant for
farewell dinner. The dinner was attended by the staff and students of
Raffles who also enjoyed Indian food and exchanged all sorts of
information about the cuisine.
The group also visited
Malaysia on their way back home. They had a fulfilled full day visit to
Genting Highlands and city tour of Kuala Lumpur City. Sight of
Petronas Twin Towers in the evening was amazing and unforgettable.
The tour was a success
and will remain an experience to cherish for the lifetime.
