Indo German
Exchange with Albert Einstein Gymnasium School, Germany
A group of 10 students and
2 teachers from Albert Einstein Gymnasium School, Stuttgart were at NMS
on an exchange visit. The students aged 16-18, stayed at the school’s
hostel and were here for 15 days. They attended classes and various
workshops at the school. With the assistance of our teachers, they also
worked on the projects that were assigned to them from their school. The
topics were all based on India ( Significance of the Ganges, Gandhi and
his contribution to the Indian Freedom struggle, the Joint Family System
in India, BPO’s in India and so on) and the students were given
practical and theoretical information on each topic. Some of our
students hosted dinners for the Germans which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The German students also worked with the Nischay girls, teaching them
poems and songs in English. The interaction between the NMS hostellers
and Germans was filled with exchange of ideas and views and allowed both
sides to reveal more about their respective countries, cultures and
lifestyles. Many preconceived notions were broken and some were
reinforced. This was our first exchange with a German school and was a
great success- A true learning experience for both schools. The teachers
of Albert Einstein were very keen on making this a yearly visit and were
also looking forward to seeing our students in Germany.
