FUN FILLED SUMMER
CAMP
The summer camp at Neerja
Modi School organized from 13th May to 16th June, 2009 culminated with
aplomb with a host of activities viz friendly matches and competition
for Basket Ball, Skating, Swimming, Football, Theatre, dance and public
speaking. The theatre students enacted a play “Clean Airy Fairy and the
public speaking students presented their speeches on Swami Vivekanand,
APJ Abdul Kalam, Jony Blair and poetic composition of Rabindranath
Tagore. They also participated in group discussions on current issues
like perusal of higher studies in foreign universities by Indian
students in the wake of ongoing racist fervour, the media converting
trivia into controversies etc…
The highlight of the Culmination of the Summer Camp was the Art and
Craft exhibition where the art pieces of Aborginal Art of Australia,
Japanese Blossom Tree and Japanese fan, African kente cloth pattern,
Kente cloth mat, Warli Madhubani, Renaissance stained glass, Panama’s
Mola art, Blue Pottery, Carnival eye mask, American headgears and
Egyptian clay amulets were put on display to the audience’s delight.
Another very popular activity at the summer camp was Horse Riding, where
students learnt horse riding skills of walk, trot and canter.
