Swimming prodigy of NMS

Shriya Bhagalia, student of Grade IX-A showed interest in learning to swim and was selected by her coach for Competitive training in swimming. With dedication and regular practice she reached interschool level during year 2005-06. She acquired medals in all the Inter-school competitions that she participated in as a student of Neerja Modi School.

She participated and won 4 medals at the Greater Mumbai Aquatics Association District level Championships held in Mumbai in April 2007.

In Jaipur, She won 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal during the State level championships held in June 2007.

Shriya was also selected to represent Rajasthan State in the National Womens Open Swimmimg Championships held in Mumbai in December 2007, and she was the youngest participant member of the State team!

Recently, in April 2008, she won the District Runners-up Trophy in Jaipur and was selected to compete in the State level Swimming Championships held in Rajsamand District. Here again, she won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze medals.

Even though Shriya started swimming at the late age of 10, she has graduated well to achieve 35 medals and 3 trophies. Thanks to the non-tiring efforts and encouragement from her school, her parents, and classmates. Her next aim is to work towards winning laurels at the National level competitions, for which she is training daily.
