Shivani’s Voice Modulation WorkShop for Teachers

Participants – Malini, Usha Nair, Smita Kumar, Rumpa Mazumdar, Sheylly Soni, Kanchan, Jaya Jain.
Shivani had come from Mumbai and conducted the workshop for 3 days from 23.07.09 to 25.07.09. on voice modulation.
We all introduced each other on the first day. Learnt the 4 N’s l.e ENACT, ENGAGE, ENTHRAL, And ENTERTAIN. Then, we learnt the different methods modulation i.e. stressing, emphasis and pressure on words. Then we did different P’s and stress on important words like Pace, Pitch, Power, Pause.
On the second day we were told how to do poem in class by asking the children to give words or enact or create statues relating the poem. To take words from newspaper to form sentences.

Tabu came – Enact the word given. We learnt the card game in which there were a pair and we had to enact using a different language like ABC or 123. We also learnt how to narrate.
On the third day we games on concentration, making sentences and forming a story by each one of us saying a sentence and story was completed in 6 lines.
We were given a object where we had to use that object in a different way and enact it and guess.
Finally all the three days of the workshop was very educative, helpful and we learnt a lot of other things which was beneficial for us and will be for the children too.
