Students of
St. Johns University, USA visit NMS
A group of 20 students from St. Johns University, USA visited our School
with Mr. Gar Kellom, Executive Director for Leadership and Service at
St. Johns University. The agenda of the visit was that students wanted
to observe and analyze how schools in India function and many of them
were keen on working with our school as volunteer teachers. According to
the group, what they perceived prior to their visit was completely
different from what they saw. Since this their first visit to India,
they had not expected an Indian school to be so advance and well
equipped in terms of infrastructure and amenities and also thought that
we were on par with most of the good schools in the US. Many from the
group showed keen interest in working with our school as volunteer
teachers. They thought that teaching techniques that we follow here were
very productive and practical and especially liked the concept of
colorful display boards in classes. They were also highly appreciative
of our efforts towards educating underprivileged girls at Nischay. All
in all the students found this visit to be enlightening as it busted
many whims and misconceptions and were eager to work with our school in
the near future.
