A day of fun for NMS Hostelers

‘Sunday’ is usually one day when our NMS hostelers look forward to relaxing and getting up by 7:30 am but, what a scene it was on 27.7.2008 which was again ‘a Sunday’ but, for a change full of action & excitement. Yes! Every child between the age of 6 to 15 yrs was up and about, at 5:30am and were all excited to go to Mandawa, an exotic royal shikhawati Haveli.

We all started for our destination at 7:30am sharp from school and enjoyed every little moment singing songs & playing antakshari. Not only this, children also relished the popcorns and hot samosas which were offered to them in the buses.

We reached Mandawa at 11:00 am and visited the Majestic Haveli. The beautiful paintings on the walls and the antique lamps, gramophone, radio, chandeliar and the telephone all reminded us of an era gone by. The children were thrilled by the camel ride and the sights and sounds of the royal Roop Villas Hotel, a heritage hotel in Nawalgarh.

The icing on the cake was the stopover at the ‘Mauj Mahal’ on our return journey where the children had a great time in the amusement park. It definitely was a memorable trip which all children would cherish.
