Celebrating the
Monsoon with Rang Malhar
The occasion was the
closing ceremony of “Rang Malhar Festival” which was convened by our
very own Mr Vidyasagar Upadhyay Ji. This festival is one of its kinds
and has been organized for the first time in India. Renowned artists
practicing different art forms from various walks of society came
together to welcome rains with the colorful umbrellas which were painted
by them to show the various colors of Monsoon. Apart from the art
galleries of the city, they showcased these umbrellas on the streets of
the historical and picturesque city of Jaipur also. They visited various
places like Jawahar Kala Kendra, Albert Hall etc with their umbrellas so
that their art work can become the talk of the town and can reach to the
common man as well.
To conclude the festival, they all got together at the school and
invited all the students to have a look at those beautiful umbrellas and
to experience the creative pedagogy behind the whole celebration. The
idea was to educate the children and create awareness among them on
water conservation and rain water harvesting. Everyone around was
mesmerized when hundreds of students gathered on the lush green field of
the school with the beautiful umbrellas in their hands. The students
also asked numerous questions from these renowned artists to know more
about their art work and had an absolutely wonderful time with them.
