Oxford University
Ms. Hannah Knight, an
English language and literature graduate from Oxford University, Oxford
taught the students of grade II about the skills of basic drama and
theater. She introduced them to the idea of ‘character’ and portraying
the same effectively through facial expressions, actions and speech. At
the same time she acquainted the students with the basic vocabulary of
theater and the different tasks performed by the directors, producers,
actors and others.
Students enjoyed selecting various topics and creating their own plays
around that topic – the most popular topics ranging from ‘kings and
queens ‘to ‘Aliens from outer space’!
Nischay students benefited greatly from the English communication
sessions taken by Ms. Hannah whereby the students learnt effective and
easy use of English language.
A poetry workshop was also conducted by Ms. Hannah Knight for Kangaroo
Kids teachers upto grade II. The aim of the workshop, which was spread
over 4 days was to give them an understanding of poetry, how to read and
analyze it so as to make the poems accessible to the young minds of the
students.
