Volunteer
Programme by B.D.Somani School, Mumbai
As a part of volunteer
work for Nischay, a group of 67 students accompanied by their teachers
and Principal Mr. Don Gardner visited Neerja Modi School on January 7,
2007.
The visiting students along with NMS students volunteered to work at
Nischay Girls School. Together they took over the classes at Nischay
teaching Art work, Maths concepts and English conversation. The
volunteer service was a part of their CAS programme for IB DP at B.D.
Somani School, Mumbai. The students worked at Nischay for 3 hours.
Besides this, the visiting students also attended a Math Class (Grade
XI) and interacted with the students of NMS. The day got exciting as the
visiting school’s Boys and Girls teams played close pitched Basketball
matches with NMS teams .What began on a solemn note of serving a cause
to community ended with cheering for a friendly Cricket Match between
the two school teams. “It was a purposeful and exciting experience” as
remarked by the visiting students.
