NMS 8th Annual Prize Giving Function

Eight Prize Giving Function Neerja Modi School will be held on its sylvan premises on 23rd December 2008, from 5.p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Learning and appreciation of the unparalleled India art being an intrinsic part of the School curriculum, the function sumptuously displays the massive effort under taken by the school to cultivate the aesthetic sense of dance, drama music and theatrical skills amongst the children.

Beginning with the felicitation of exemplary students in all disciplines viz academics sport, and co-curricular activities both in house and outside at school, city and National level.
Indian classical orchestra a “bandhish of Raag Desh” and “Vande Mataram” a captivating rendition by 17 students on flute, sitar and Tabla is sure to capture the hearts of audience.


Enthralling performance by the boarders - Unsuni (unheard voices) is a musical theatre piece originally conceived adapted and scripted by Mallika Sarabhi. Dexterously directed by Nisarg and choreographed by Murali Nair is a heart touching presentation that gives voice to three of the country’s millions of voiceless people through a series of monologues. The three Anand – Jaggtu become beacons of inspiration by the way they face life despite the trials and tribulations.

Dance of Life – a magnanimous presentation by 208 children. The dance sequences epitomise the glories of India from ancient to the contemporary and elicit a sense of pride and pleasure in the be holders. The depiction of vibrant march of Indian science from Brahmagupta and Aryabhatta to Charaka, Bhaskara and the scientists of the 20th century. Abstract movements of dance give emphatic visual expression to the discovery of the place holder zero, Ayurveda, first nose surgery emperor Jhangirs’ research into physiognomy of birds and the words of J.C. Bose Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai.

A great musical Bonaza or a treasure house of knowledge judge for yourself.

Last but not the least will be the unforgettable Audio – visual feast – Mamma Mia – adapted by Vishal Asrani. Although the title of the musical is taken from ABBAS 1975 chart topper – Mamma Mia – the stage musical includes hits like ‘super trooper’ ‘dancing queen’ ‘I have a dream’. Presented by over 100 children. The bewitching musical melodies will reverberate in your mind’s eye long after you have seen it.
