KK SIXTH SPORTS
DAY - 2006
The traditional torch lighting ceremony followed by unfurling of the
flag by our chief guest commenced the sports day.
The children were wearing different headgears of reindeers, crows,
frogs, dogs, giraffes, horses, hens, wolves etc. ready to do the task
assigned which are so natural to them. Where the giraffes were to pluck
the leaves, dogs were busy hunting bones. The wolves had to break down
the house of hay, the hens were busy getting the bread ready. Tasks of
different difficulty level were accomplished by animals from different
habitats. The snake’s slithered from underground while the crows were
busy putting stones in the pitcher. The rhinos barged into obstacles and
frogs leaped excitedly.
The event gave a platform to the children of our school to put their
best foot forward as every event comprised of exciting races. Children
from Nishchay (school for under privileged girls) ran unbeatably in
their races signifying our policy of inclusion.
Just when it seems there’s no place for fun in sports, one got the
chance to watch a bunch of Kindergarteners perform all task in all their
fairness without bothering about what’s happening in the next track. All
races incorporated novelty and co-ordination.
The best was saved for last when the parents eagerly participated in the
different interesting races scheduled for them. A truly exhilarating
performance was put by all, who participated with honesty and the will
to win, making the show a success. The winners who snatched first,
second and third position were given medals.
