Student on
Exchange from Harker School, USA
Pranav Sharma, a grade VII student from Harker School, Sanjose,
California, USA spent an exciting week with his Indian counterparts in
August in Neerja Modi School. Experiencing an all different curriculum
and schooling Pranav had lots to learn and share.
Be it trying his hands at Mathematics or Science or learning a few
introductory lessons on Hindi to Swimming and sports he enjoyed it all.
He impressed everyone with his power point presentation on his School
Project, Solar Energy. Delving deep into this project he set on a lively
conversation with his friends.
When asked, what appealed him the most about his friends here in NMS, he
felt that students here had a greater sense of respect for their
teachers than in US. He said, “I could sense discipline among students
came not out of fear but due to respect for their teachers”. He added,
“I wish I could stay here longer.”
He also liked the many co–curricular activities were arranged in daily
schedule. He remarked, “Back in my school only a few students who
accomplish academically are given a chance to participate in special
projects.”
He left with invitations to many of his new found friends in NMS. They
also offered to host him during his next visit to India.
Pranav’s visit gave a new to our long cherished relationship with Harker
School, USA.
