World Heritage Day (Grade I to IV)

Old is gold and reviving what is valuable is not only a priviledge but our duty as well. We must learn to honour our heritage. In order to develop the sense of belongingness and the need to preserve our heritage “The World Heritage Day” was celebrated on 17th April 2009. The students were made aware about the diversity of cultural heritage and the efforts we need to put in to protect and conserve it.

Students of grade I and II were shown various pictures of different monuments in India which are considered as the heritage sites and they were then asked to illustrate their favourite monument and write something about it. On the other hand students of grade III and IV were told about the heritage sites namely Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. The main objective of celebrating this special day was to define world Heritage in both cultural and natural terms, so that the students at their own level could co operate and protect these treasures not only for themselves but for their future generations to come.
