  Program Overview

The school is also in midst of developing a Teacher Exchange Program. Since we believe that “learning never stops and the education is an on going process”, strong emphasis is laid upon staff and faculty development programs. Through this international teaching opportunity, we endeavor to expose our faculty and senior management (as well as those of the institution participating in the exchange) to the changing and developing international educational scenario.

We invite experienced teachers from our partner schools or other reputable schools outside of India, to come and teach at our school for a period of weeks or months. In exchange, we expect to be able to send one of our teachers to the school of our visitor for a similar period of time.

It is Neerja Modi School’s aim to host at least two foreign exchange teachers per year, during either of the two semesters (July – November; January – April). Know more about availability.

Program Objectives
  • To provide the senior teachers of our school and the visiting teacher with an opportunity to compare and learn about different education systems, to exchange ideas and knowledge, and to contribute to the professional development of themselves and respective colleagues.
  • To add an international dimension to our education system thus enabling our students to become global citizens and also to help them in future as they seek admission to foreign colleges and universities.
  • To facilitate long lasting partnerships between NMS and international schools of repute.

Qualifications

We invite teachers of Mathematics, Science, English, Arts, Music, Drama and Environmental Studies who are already teaching in an educational institution to apply for this program.
Degrees required: MA, M.Ed, B.Phil, B.Ed or Any Education Degree.

Program Details

- Working Requisites
Our school has students from grade K-12 and classes are taught exclusively in English. Interested candidates have the choice of selecting the grade level they would like to teach. The following link provides curriculum details for each of the above-listed subjects and grade levels.

Every week the visiting teacher is expected to devote 6 hours per working day to our school (Monday- Saturday). During the stay, the visiting teachers shall provide lessons/teaching sessions to the students of NMS and in this they shall have full freedom of choice of methods, techniques and manner of teaching/instructions. During the stay of the visiting teachers, our school shall provide proper working space/room to perform their work and the school shall cater to all the miscellaneous needs of the teachers.

NMS expects the visiting teachers to have commitment towards the job. Visiting teachers shall not collaborate or coordinate with any other school of Jaipur during their stay with NMS, without prior permission.

The written intimation of the visit of the teachers and their schedule has to be sent to NMS well in advance so that we can adequately arrange for all the requirements of the visiting teachers.

- Duration of stay
The duration of stay for this international teaching experience has been kept flexible to suit the individual requirements of the participating teachers. Ideally, visiting teachers will stay for a minimum of two weeks and their host institution will be responsible for hosting one of our teachers (under similar terms and conditions) for a comparable period.

- Compensation
NMS will not provide applicants with a salary but it is our hope that the home institution will continue to pay their teachers while they are with us. Neerja Modi School shall arrange and take care of airport pick up/drop off, transportation to and from school, lodging in Jaipur and all meals taken at the school and place of lodging.

- Special Provisions
As a special gesture, The Neerja Modi School will fully support and sponsor any particular interest of the visiting teacher- such as learning any music instrument, yoga, any Indian language, etc. These interests are just illustrative and do not restrict the choice of visiting teachers to pursue any particular interest or activity of his/her choice.

After the successful completion of the 30 working days the visiting teaches shall be provided with a complimentary tour of Jaipur or Agra (home to the magnificent and famous the Taj Mahal). The tour shall include transportation to the sight, hotel stay, and all sight seeing/ tourist attractions. Know more about Jaipur.
