About Jaipur

Apart from the exchange visits we encourage students to participate in a range of projects carefully designed and implemented at different levels in the school. These projects are undertaken in collaboration with the partner schools abroad. An attempt is made to propose a project at all the levels in the school so that students in each grade have an opportunity to interact and share information with their counterparts .These projects benefit the whole class as each and every student can participate unlike the exchange programs. The students are always enthusiastic to work on these projects as they are a fun way of learning and it’s always exciting to learn about new cultures, about life there and what your friends are doing.

Some of the projects undertaken at various levels are:

Global Challenge 20/20
Challenge 20/20 is a program initiated by The National Association of Independent School in United States of America. This program brings together schools in United States with schools in other countries. Together, partner schools identify local solutions to a global problem.

The program provides an opportunity for schools —public and private, elementary and secondary — to develop globally based, experiential curricula and to build educational partnerships with schools around the world. The students form authentic bonds with students from across the globe and learn first-hand about cross-cultural communication.

Together, the teams tackle one of 20 problems threatening today’s global society.

Neerja Modi School and Challenge 20/20
Our school is collaborating with five schools in United States on the 20/20 project. Our middle school and high school students are working on four different global problems with teams at five different partner schools. View the forum for challenge 20/20.

We are doing four problems with 5 schools in United States namely:

Massive step-up in the fight against poverty Harker School
Kentucky Country Day School
Education for all Vistamar School
Reinventing taxation for the 21st Century Charlotte Latin School
Global warming St. Timothy's School

Our Trees Project
This project is done at grade 6 with The Harker School, USA on their school forum.
Population Project
This project is done at grade 8 with The Harker School , USA on their school forum.

We have school forum namely “Our Earth” as a platform for information exchange between schools and documentation of research and findings regarding a solution.

Natural Vegetation
This project is designed for students of age groups 10 – 12. For a healthy and balanced development of a nation, a beautiful environment is a MUST as it helps in refining the minds of the inhabitants. This project provides students an opportunity to integrate various disciplines Science, Technology, Language Arts, Geography and History leading to cohesive learning. Participants are encouraged to visit forest areas. At the end of the project, students get to know why Natural Vegetation is vital to all and needs to be preserved.

Money matters
This project is designed for age group 14-16 years. This project provides the participants an opportunity to integrate various disciplines like Technology, Arithmetic, Language Arts, History, Economics and Political Science/Civics.

The project also helps the students explore the value of currency in different parts of the world, beginning with their own: It is expected that the students would benefit from exchanging information with the students in another part of the world. The participants can see what value their currency has in relation to other currencies

Eating right and Staying Healthy
Our body works all the time. It works when we eat, breathe, walk, run, or play even when we are asleep. To perform all these activities the body needs energy.

Food gives us energy to work. It acts like a fuel for the body. In order to stay healthy, we need a balanced diet, sufficient exercise & enough rest. The objective of the project is:-
• To familiarise the students with the nutrients available in all food items.
• To enable them to plan a balanced diet keeping in mind the food value.
• To make them aware of the consequences of a diet lacking some vital nutrients.
• To make them aware of the existence of communicable diseases.
• To develop an awareness of how to protect themselves and their families from these diseases

Email Exchange
The grade 3 students do a pen pal exchange with grade 3 students at Harker. The students have their email IDs created by the school which they use to communicate with their allotted pen pal at the other end.

Offline Projects

Mascot Exchange Project
It is done at all the grades from 2- 5. We have developed an idea for a simple, yet meaningful project involving the exchange of a stuffed animal from each school.
We send a small “Camel” stuffed animal to the partner school with an introductory letter about the animal and the NMS grade.
The partner school also sends us a letter and a stuffed animal from their school.
Each week a student from each school takes home their respective sister school’s stuffed animal and a journal template. At the end of the week, the student returns the stuffed animal to school with the completed journal entry. Students can also bring small souvenirs from the week that they would like to send to their sister school.
At the end of the month, we exchange the packages with three-four journal entries and accompanying souvenirs.
Journal entries from this package and any accompanying items are read or displayed to the students at each school.
The project is a fun activity which makes them learn about animals not in existence in their country along with loads of information about each other’s school , personal habits , likes dislikes, activities round the week etc which certainly amuse the kids.
We are collaborating with schools in Australia , Mauritius and USA for this project.

Creative Writing Project
Our 4th graders will participate in another project that centers on Creative Writing assignments. We will match students up with their fourth grade partners to exchange Creative Writing assignments .We are planning this project with The Harker school from this year on but will pursue it with other partner schools as well.

All these projects are initiated every year. We also propose new projects every year and all the schools are invited to participate.
