Program Overview
Neerja Modi School invites individuals with an interest in teaching or
with expertise in a particular subject area (experienced teachers, as
well as recent graduates of reputed universities with an interest in
teaching) to come to our School as a volunteer teacher. for a minimum
period of three weeks to teach our students using the methods and
techniques in practice at international schools in their country.
This is not an exchange and visiting teachers and their home
institutions will not be expected to host a NMS teacher.
NMS is happy to work with student applicants to design a program that
will qualify as a for-credit or not-for credit internship at your home
institution. Due to India’s academic calendar, students interested in a
summer internship can come and teach at our school for the months of
July and August.
It is Neerja Modi School’s aim to host at least two foreign teachers per
year, during either of the two semesters.

Program Objectives
- To provide NMS faculty and the
visiting teacher/student-teacher with an opportunity to compare and
learn about different education systems, to exchange ideas and
knowledge, and to contribute to the professional development of
themselves and their home institutions.
- To add an international dimension to
our education system thus enabling our students to become global
citizens and also to help them in future as they seek admission to
foreign colleges and universities.
Qualifications
Please apply for this position if you are:
- A degree-holding teacher of Mathematics, Science, English, Arts,
Music, Drama and Environmental Studies from outside of India
- An undergraduate or graduate student at a reputed college or
university outside of India, with a specialization in education or one
of the above-listed subjects
Program Details:
- Working Requisites
Our school has students from grade K-12. Interested candidates have the
choice of selecting the grade level he/she would like to teach. The
following link provides curriculum details for each of the above-listed
subjects and grade levels.
Every week the visiting teacher is expected to devote 6 hours per
working day to our school (Monday- Saturday). During the stay, the
visiting teachers shall provide lessons/teaching sessions to the
students of NMS and in this they shall have full freedom of choice of
methods, techniques and manner of teaching/instructions. During the stay
of the visiting teachers, our school shall provide proper working
space/room to perform their work and the school shall cater to all the
miscellaneous needs of the teachers.
NMS expects the visiting teachers to have commitment towards the job.
Visiting teachers shall not collaborate or coordinate with any other
school of Jaipur during their stay with NMS, without prior permission.
The written intimation of the visit of the teachers and their schedule
has to be sent to NMS well in advance so that we can adequately arrange
for all the requirements of the visiting teachers.
Duration of stay
The duration of stay has been kept flexible to suit the individual
requirements of the participating teachers/student-teachers. We ask that
candidates commit to a stay of at least 3 weeks, but are welcome to stay
for up to one school year.
- Compensation
This is a volunteer opportunity.
- Provisions during the stay
Neerja Modi School provides various facilities depending on the tenure
of the stay of the visiting teacher.
One month: Airport pick up & drop, all the lodging, boarding,
food (three meals of the day) and internet access with in the school.
One- three months: Airport pick up & drop, all the lodging,
boarding and food (three meals of the day), internet access with in the
school and city sight seeing, Vocational training in the school as per
the interest.
Three-six months: Airport pick up & drop, all the lodging,
boarding and food (three meals of the day), city sight seeing and
excursion to one of the either places, Ajmer (Pushkar)/Jodhpur/Udaipur
(any place in Rajasthan) or Agra, vocational training in the school as
per the interest.
Six months- one year: Airport pick up & drop, all the lodging,
boarding and food (three meals of the day), city sight seeing, excursion
to one of the either places, Ajmer (Pushkar)/Jodhpur/Udaipur (any place
in Rajasthan) or Agra, a return ticket to their respective country (if
the candidate possess a Masters degree) and vocational training in the
school as per the interest.
Please note: The school does not provide any laundry charges,
calling charges, internet charges at hotel or any kind of personal
expenses incurred by the visiting teacher.
Special Provisions
The NMS as a special gesture would also fully support and sponsor any
particular interest of the visiting teachers such as learning any music
instrument, yoga, cooking, any Indian language, chocolate making, they
wish to learn while in India. These interests are just illustrative and
do not restrict the choice of visiting teachers to pursue any particular
interest or activity of his/her choice.
