What is STEM?
There is a lot of buzz around STEM education these days in advanced countries like the United States and across some of the leading schools even in India. So what exactly is STEM education? Is it just teaching Math and Science to children as we have been doing for decades? STEM education is all about the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math as interconnected disciplines. It is an integrated approach to help students connect Math and Science learning to real world applications, ensuring they stay engaged. Technology and Digital tools are an integral part of today's 21st century world and preparing our students to leverage them for learning is the key to success. The hands-on projects as part of STEM Learning helps children appreciate working with design and engineering as a structured process are the key to innovation.STEM Education has been proved to be an effective way to help students acquire 21st Century skills like Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration and Communication Skills. It does so in a way that makes learning Science and Math fun and integrating with technological tools of today like tablets and internet. There is substantial evidence to show that not only do the students' academic scores improve but they also gain a deeper understanding of the subject along with life and leadership skills.
Neerja modi school has tied up with Camp K 12 Innovations which is a rapidly growing organization offering creative technology courses to students from KG to 12th grade to build their knowledge and personality. It has introduced the concept of App Development, a first for India, to school students and by now has successfully trained thousands of school students in logical App development which is helping the students to perform better in their academic and extra-curricular activities.

Camp K-12 courses are designed to supplement and enhance a student’s creative learning and to prepare them to have a global edge in the use of Technology tools. To create an exquisite, fun filled learning experience for campers, they recruit and train smart instructors from top engineering institutes all over India such as IIT, NSIT, DTU etc, who bring a unique blend of subject matter expertise, intelligence with strong communication skills.
Neerja modi School feels proud to give an opportunity to it’s students to participate in The International Award for Young People (IAYP) which is the most adaptable and successful youth empowerment program with no religious, political or strategic affiliations. It has an established capacity for identifying hard issues and challenges associated with youth. Their framework is used by schools, youth organizations, community groups, correctional services, employers and government departments nationwide. Around the world, more than 143 countries use this model for positive youth empowerment. They draw together and connect people, institutions and generations with the common purpose of youth development and inclusion. IAYP is the Programme of choice for over 8 million people in the world today.
The Award’s concept is one of individual challenge, giving young people a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities which encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community. Those who participate in the Award are expected to follow its requirements in a non-competitive manner with a determination to succeed, either individually or as part of a team. The Award therefore is challenging, and can be undertaken at your own pace.
