Modi School is happy to bring out our first News letter. The vision
of NMS is to help children acquire knowledge and experience, to
think independently, to form opinions, to be self reliant and to
gain confidence. In a nutshell the NMS provides a complete holistic education to children by exposing them to a variety of extra
curricular activities. This would help our children to face the
challenge of this new, interdependent world. The School has a vast
campus sprawling over 14 acres of lush green lawns for sports,
colorful well ventilated and bright classrooms, a very well equipped
computer lab, audio-visual room, a home theatre and a highly
qualified staff. The library is a learning resource center with
conventional books and a 24 hour Internet connection that students
and staff are encouraged to use. The splendid new building of the
school makes an impact on the mind while the lush meticulously
manicured lawns create a mesmerizing effect.
The above facilities and infrastructure would go a long way in
fulfilling the vision of the management in making this a global
institution of international repute. Though still in its infancy, as
a one year old, it has created ripples all over the city by its very
new concept in the field of education. The last term saw a number of
wide ranging activities like the annual athletics day, the brain
storming sessions, the quizzes, extemporary speeches, the story
animations, the grandparents’ day, the English and Hindi recitations
etc. culminating in the classic climax towards the end of the term
in the form of a a wonderful presentation of The Lion King, Kaikeyi,
The Dance of the Seasons. This was the first annual function held on
its lush green lawns, against the golden rays of the setting sun.
Mr. Shiv Khera, author of the International Best Seller “You Can
Win” was the chief guest. Indeed it was a glittering function
starting with the Director H.L.Dutt giving a brief resume of the
objectives and developments of the year. In a witty speech he gave a
bird’s eye view of the history of the school. Shiv Khera began by
saying how some parents mislead the children. According to him
virtues had to be imbibed in the children right from childhood. He
wanted the parents to be more sensitive to the needs of the society
at large. It is only when we learn to raise our voice against
Injustice that Justice would prevail. As many as three hundred and
fifty participants from all the classes participated in the plays
that followed Mr. Khera’s speech.
After a very successful and fruitful summer camp which comprised of
14 activities in various fields be it sports, spoken English,
concept development, computers etc., the school reopened on 27th
June with a high profile in-service computer training of the staff
members on the use of Email, Internet and Computers Aids in
Education etc. |
