Christmas Day

November 14, 2002

The Children's day programme was celebrated on November 14, 2002 with great enthusiasm & zeal. The programme was conducted by the children who lured the audience by their performance. The programme started with a brief address as to why the occasion is celebrated. The captivating chorus, “We are the children and those lovely angels” by the students brought everyone into the mood of the day. Besides short speeches, the students recited some beautiful poems.

 Manjot Sodhi of Class V-B read out a poem portraying a child's desire to set every thing right in this world in his innocent manner. The day was made up by an improvised playlet-“True Friends, put up by the enthusiastic students of class IV-B. The performances of the students of class III in the plays like Rapunzel, Pandora's Box, and The Beauty & The Beast were amazing. The confidence of the students performing the plays really stole the show and captured the audience. Rohit of class VIII A enjoyed the playlet whereas Rajat of VII-B found the poems interesting.

December 24, 2002

The occasion was celebrated in the school with the usual éclat. A tasteful array of speeches, carols and skits were designed for all classes which added to the festive atmosphere of the day.
The junior school students painted Santa cutouts and wrote their requests to him. Christ's message of love, peace and universal brotherhood was highlighted through the two plays presented by the middle school students. The Birth of Christ and “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens featuring the character, Scrooge was presented. Students of Classes V & VI depicted the mythical Rudolph, whose life was transformed by Santa's request to show him the path and guide his sleigh with the help of his shiny red nose in the form of a dance drama.The heightened excitement was evident when Santa's sleigh passed through them. Besides celebrations, class decorations and partying, the students of the middle school participated in card making, collage and gift wrapping contests. Certificates were given out to the winners and the students had a gala time.

Guru Nanak Jayanti Republic Day
November 19, 2002

Guru Nanak Jayanti was celebrated on November 19, 2002 with much fervor and enthusiasm.
The highlight of the day was a playlet presented by the students of class V which depicted the early life and teachings of Guru Nanak. Anant Agarwal and Milind Tiwari, both of class V-B acted as Guru Nanak and his disciple respectively. They felt that there could have been no better way of learning about Guru Nanak than to have acted in the role Bhupesh Torani narrated an incident from the life of Nanak. Shagun Karwasra of class VII A presented a talk on the teachings of Guru Nanak, and Kapil Bajaj of the same class spoke about the contribution of Guru Nanak towards establishing social and religious harmony. The devotional sentiment could be felt in the air as Manjot Sodi rendered some Shabads. The programme came to an end with Prawal Agarwal of Class VII-B highlighting the contributions of Guru Nanak to the society and the aptness of his teaching in today's world.

January 26, 2003

The School celebrated Republic Day wherein the Principal unfurled the National Flag. It was followed by an impressive march past by students of classes VI, VII and VIII.

In her address to the children and the parents, she emphasized why January 26 was chosen as Republic Day. Some light was thrown on amendments of the constitution by Sukshita of Grade VIII, Students of Grade III presented a dance to the accompaniment of the song Vande Mataram.

Spirit of the constitution was another interesting topic dealt by Nitesh of Class VII. An orchestra comprising of 25 budding instrumentalists acted as the grand finale to the show.
