October 30, 2002
Students of classes I, II and III staged the Grimm's Award, an
interclass Drama Competition in the open air theatre on October
30. An
enthralling performance by the little ones left a mark in the
minds of the audience. The evening was a blend of Indian as well
as Western fairy tales. This competition brought out the hidden
talent of the children whose vibrant performance looked truly
professional in every sense, be it speech, acting, voice
modulation or stage setting. The Hindi Plays by Grade I had a
moral to convey. Plays like 'Sacha Bhagat', 'Kanjoos
Makhichoos','Swarthi Danaw', Hilsa Machli' and 'Budhiman
Kabootar' enacted by the little moppets enthralled the audience
and motivated one and all to join them on the stage during a
dance. |
The English
plays like 'The Pied Piper of Hamlyn', 'Snow White' and 'The Seven
Dwarfs', 'Cinderella', 'Princess and the Pea', 'Hansel and Gretel' presented by the Grade II children brought out the
various elements of the fairy tales vividly before the audience.

Equally impressive was the performance by Grade III children in
presenting 'The Beauty and the Beast', 'Pandora's Box' and 'Rapunzel'.
Their performance was fascinating and left the audience in a
state of rapture.
There was a large gathering of parents, guests and excited
younger siblings. The sets were exquisite and conjured up
visions of a fairy land with a beautiful castle. The English
plays stole the limelight with their beautiful setting and
excellent speech delivery by the children.

They were a
treat to watch not only for their acting and good direction, but
also for their colourful
costumes.
According to
some parents it was the most rewarding evening!!
